I was in an office, working. I knew I'd been laid off, and I was just there to finish a project, but I hadn't been paid in weeks, so I was frustrated. I told Melissa that I was fed up, and we left for lunch, but somehow we picked up another 8 people on the way out of the office, including Kristen and my old friend Dan Winship.

We walked to a Greek restaurant. For some reason, I'm carrying a lot of luggage, and Kristen asks me if i have enough bags. I answer "No". But the luggage was heavy.

We get there and, of course, they can't seat the whole party, so we wait. People get seated a few at a time, and I manage to put down one of my bags and lose it, so I get distracted looking for it. While I'm looking, everyone but me is seated.

Finally, I think "There's nothing important in that bag anyway, just my sleeping bag", so I go to the table. But the table is packed, and rather than try to crowd in another seat, I go back to the waiting area.

The waiting area turns out to now be covered with sleeping bags, all laid out. But none of them are mine. I walk along the hallway, stepping with one leg on each side of each sleeping bag to not mess them up (they're nicely laid out) and talk to the hostess.

She says she'll find me a table, and we go to an elevator. The doors of the elevator open out on a beautiful vista (oddly, at street level). A really cool looking deco-inspired futuristic light rail train goes by. There's some animatronic flying animal that's bothering one of the other people on this balcony, but the hostess tells it to leave him alone.

There's an old man there putting up a fence — the kind with white, round, 6in diameter posts — and i remember that this is a famous view and that I get to check an item off of my list of SF tourist attractions.

I head back to the elevator to go up a floor and get to the tables in the glassed-in area with the view.
